Basic SRD SASSA R350 Requirements in Note

  • Must be a South African citizen
    The applicant must be a citizen of South Africa with all the documents to prove it.
  • Permanent resident

The Applicant must have a permanent resident in South Africa

  • Refugee registered on the home affairs database

Legal refugees in South Africa who are registered in the Department of Home Affairs database can also apply for the SASSA R350 grant.

  • Holders of special permits or asylum seekers with valid visas

Holders of special permits of asylum seekers with valid visas are also qualified to apply for the relief grant.

  • Currently residing within the borders of South Africa

Another major factor to be considered is whether the applicant is residing in South Africa at the time of Application. South African citizens residing in other countries are not qualified to apply for the SASSA grant.

  • Must be between 18 and 60 years old
  • Unemployed

The applicant must also be unemployed at the time of application. Gainfully employed persons are not qualified to apply.
